Dear colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the Fourth International Conference of the Association of Seismic Protection of Countries participating in Black Sea Economic Cooperation SEISMO-(BSEC)-2016 “Modern achievements in the study of the seismicity of the Black Sea region, prediction of earthquakes and possibilities of broadening interdisciplinary and international cooperation in seismology”
which will be held on April 13-14, 2016 in Sochi, Russia.
The purpose of the conference is to unite the efforts of the world seismologists to further advance in dealing with forecasting the seismic events in the region of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and, in general, throughout the world. The suggestions for joint programs and projects are welcome. It is also a need to carry out an evaluation of the activities of the Association of Seismic Protection of Countries participating in SEISMO- Black Sea Economic Cooperation and determination of its work in the coming years based on the experience of similar associations in other regions and countries.
The Conference will include a brief report on the activities of the Association after the Third Conference of the Association held in Rostov-on-Don, Russia five years ago. It summarizes the latest achievements obtained by the scientists of the Association in the given period. In particular, the development of the first mathematical model for prediction of the place, time and intensity of a new type of earthquakes referred to as starting earthquakes; a new mathematical apparatus of the block element which allows one to explore a variety of extreme events in the natural and man-made processes and its application. The role of interdisciplinary and international cooperation in seismology problems will be emphasized.
Special attention will be given to the presentation of the views of scientists from various countries in the seismology and ways of their possible solutions by means of joined action.
The Conference will be held in English language.
We are asking those who wish to participate in the conference to register at http://bsec.confirent.ru/user/log-in, receive a confirmation e-mail and then fill in the application form at http://bsec.confirent.ru/ru/seismo.
Registered users shall provide their report abstracts by March 21, 2016 (Choose “Submit materials”). Report abstracts must be written in English language and contain no more than 1 page sent in formats Microsoft Word, direction: “Seismology” or “Mechanics of Solid”. By March 24, 2016 the organizing Committee will notify the scholars by individual invitation letter based on the selected abstracts. This letter will serve as a basis for obtaining Russian entry visa.
The conference will be held at the Marins Park Hotel located in the heart of Sochi, the southern capital of Russia, on the Black Sea coast next to the International Olympic University, the latter being built on the eve of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The invited scholars will be provided with free accommodation, food and transport for the conference period. They will be exempted from the registration fee. The transport costs from the residence country to the city of Sochi and back are covered by the conference participants.
Guided tours in the city and to the Olympic Games infrastructure will be organized during the conference.
